Info: Draya was found dead amidst an epidemic of violence against black trans women in the USA. Five other black trans women were killed between 25th June and 3rd July.
The circumstances of her death are not yet known.

Info: Brayla's body was found in a parked car on a remote trail. Her killer boasted about her murder on social media saying that he was paid $5,000 dollars for the crime.
On Thursday 2nd July Trevone H. Miller was arrested for her murder.
Riah Milton

Info: Riah was shot multiple times during a premeditated robbery. Nearly all police and news reports about her murder misgendered and deadnamed her.
Riah’s sister Ariel posted about her sister's death on Twitter, and about the way the authorities and media misgendered and deadnamed Riah.
"Currently the only words I can use to describe the past three to four days since finding out about the murder of my sister, Riah, has been just completely heartbreaking and has left me emotionally and mentally tired.
Dominique "Rem'mie" Fells

Info: Dominique's body was found on the banks of the Schuylkill River. She had suffered stab wounds and trauma to the head and face, and her body was found with both legs severed.
An arrest warrant was issued for Akhenaton Jones, 36, after blood and a cutting tool believed to be connected to the case was discovered in his home.
The nonprofit group New Voices organised a march in her memory in West Philadelphia on Saturday 20th June.
Selena Reyes-Hernandez

Info: Selena was shot by a man who went home with her after she told him that she was transgender. Even though she was dead already, he later returned to shoot her again.
Orlando Perez, 18, was remanded in custody without bail. He is next due to appear in court on 6th July.

On Tuesday 2nd June 2020, thousands rallied in front of the Stonewall Inn to demand an end to the killing of black trans people in the US.

Lorena Borjas

Info: Lorena died from the COVID-19 coronavirus. She was the mother of the trans Latinx community in Queens, and advocated for trans victims of trafficking, slavery and violence.
Lorena had a long history of activism trying to protect trans people - and in particular those who were victims of trafficking, slavery and violence - in New York.
In 2019 the short documentary Queens Stories: The Story of Lorena Borjas: The Transgender Latina Activist told her story.
